FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are Sola Wood Flowers?

Sola wood flowers are not real flowers, they are handmade with shavings from the sola wood (shola) - a renewable, marshy plant. Each individual flower is carefully shaped into a life-like flower and the natural color is ivory. At Fenris & Fox Designs, I purchase these flowers from a small company based in the U.S. and hand-dye them to create the designs you see in my shop.

How do I care for my arrangement?

Though sola wood flowers are stronger than real flowers, they're still extremely delicate and can be damaged with rough handling. In general: keep the flowers in a cool, dry area, away from open flame and direct sun exposure.

They are made from natural wood and as a biological product need to breathe, so do not seal them in an airtight container.

*Please note for wedding bouquets & flower crowns: these arrangements and crowns CAN be outside - they just cannot LIVE outside. Your bouquets and crowns should be fine, but please be mindful of inclement weather*

Can I clean my arrangement?

Though they last a long time, they are a little tricky to clean! I have found that every so often using an ozone-safe compressed air dust & lint remover (like what you'd use on a computer keyboard) seems to do the trick to get dust that collects on the surface.

*Be sure to keep it far enough away from the flowers, so you don't damage them with the quick burst of pressured air*

Damaged or Unique?

These flowers are hand-crafted, so they will not all be perfectly uniform (much like fresh flowers!)

You should be able to tell the difference between damage and a slight difference in the flower: i.e. did it snap off of it's stem? Have all or most of the petals broken off? (these issues rarely, but can, occur in transit).

If your flower is just a little smushy or uneven, fear not! That flower is living it's own unique life.

*Please note: IF your item was, indeed, damaged in transit, please contact me within 24hours of receiving the item at fenrisandfoxdesigns@gmail.com*
